NYCHA Redhook development has 28 buildings and house over 6,000 people. This project includes renovations in all 28 buildings and has two freestanding buildings central plants that incorporate community amenities in their design. The West Plant features a planted roof, acting as a continuation of the adjacent public park, while the East Plant includes social spaces in addition to a translucent exterior. There are fourteen “utility pods” which provide heat and electricity to the buildings. Akcel Systems is providing Building Automation System and Central Monitoring for all 28 Buildings, Utility PODs and Central Plants. Project includes controls for High Temperature Hot Water Generators, Unfired Steam Generators in PODs and Plants, Medium Temperature Hot Water System, Air Handling Units, Generators and Fuel Oil Systems, Steam Zone Controls, Development Wide BMS Fiber etc.
